In 2007, the government of Dubai planned to build mega complexes that can cater the needs of residential and commercial buildings with all ultra-modern amenities. Therefore, the UAE’s dominating developer Emaar Properties worked on this project. An area of 2500 sqm was allotted for the DownTown Dubai. Before 2000, this place was known as Umm Al Tarif. Soon after the completion of DownTown, many investors and business-minded people showed interest in starting their businesses in DownTown.
The downtown district is designed in a rectangular shape along Sheikh Zayed Road. Some famous nearby locations are Al Wasl, Business Bay, Trade Centre, and Zabeel 2. If we talk about the distance from Downtown to Dubai airports, it will take 35 minutes to reach Al Maktoum International Airport and 45 minutes to reach Dubai International Airport. For shopping lovers, Dubai’s most dominating, The Dubai Mall, is only 10 minutes away from Downtown.
Downtown Dubai is the city’s busiest tourist point and a business hub. Dubai’s leading commercial companies have been operating in DownTown for years. The modern lifestyle of people living in Downtown is a mixture of traditions and elegance at the same time. All the main festivals of Dubai took place in DownTown, i.e., National Parade Day and New Year’s Eve Gala Celebrations, etc.
